A Candy Bar Dessert — Whatchamacallit Pie

Do you guys remember this Whatchamacallit Candy Bar commercial?

I am definitely dating myself but I remember this commercial playing at every break while I watched my favorite Saturday morning cartoons. Mostly, I remember how weird the commercial was. The random graphics mixed in with the black and white drawings is very 80s.

Whatchamacallit Candy Bar

Whatchamacallits are not easy to find now a days. They were at every supermarket check out lane but not anymore. When I do find them I usually buy a few, eat one immediately and then save the rest for a rainy day… or if my husband finds them, he takes them. Whatchamacallits are his favorite. That is why I made him this pie.

Whatchamacallit Pie

Whatchamacallit Candy Bars are crunchy, peanuty, caramely goodness. I tried to keep true to the flavor and texture of the candy bar in this pie and I think it was a success. I made peanut the base flavor using peanut butter and for the rest I just let the candy bar do the work. Adding the chopped candy bar to the peanut butter cream gave it the perfect balance of chocolate and crunch.

For the crust you can use a store-bought graham cracker crust but I chose to make my favorite recipe. The crust of any pie is my favorite part therefore making this recipe perfect because it is thick and buttery. Top off the pie with your favorite caramel sauce and more Whatchamacallit Candy Bars and YUM!!! Do you have a favorite candy bar dessert? Please let us know in the comments.
